Suicide prevention: Knowing the signs

September 10 is World Suicide Prevention Day. Sadly, according to the World Health Organization, more than 800,000 people die from suicide around the world each year. But you can be a light for someone in need. Identifying the symptoms and suggesting the appropriate resources to those feeling hopeless is a tremendous step toward dimming these upsetting statistics. 

“The key to prevention is knowing the warnings signs and where to go for help,” Psychiatric Care Navigator Kari Deutscher said. “If your child or loved one is contemplating suicide, they may be displaying one or more of the following warning signs …”
