We asked Jared Grandlienard, retail operations manager, Parkview Health, to walk us through the best options for this stop in the cafeteria, a similar establishment or the stovetop at home.
“It’s a common misconception that you can’t get anything healthy at the grill,” Jared said. At the Parkview Regional Medical Center cafeteria, diners can opt for a chicken breast, turkey burger, black bean burger or roasted potatoes for a sensible meal.
Add additional nutrients by piling the veggies high on top of your protein and adding a side of fresh vegetables or a side salad. Skip the French fries to avoid unwanted calories.
