Women's Health: Your Wellness, Your Life

Hi, I’m Chris Stroud, MD, a Board Certified Obstetrician/Gynecologist with Parkview Physicians Group-OB/GYN.  It’s my goal to share with you some of what I’ve learned over the past fifteen years of medical practice in women’s health.

I have special interest in pregnancy care, particularly in those women who have struggled with fertility problems.  I also have special training and skills in minimally invasive robotic surgery, robotic surgical approaches to treating pelvic organ prolapse, and minimally invasive techniques in the treatment of gynecologic cancers.

My wife, Marianne, and I have three wonderful children ages 14, 12, and 10.  We are in the process of adopting two children from Colombia, South America and we hope they will be joining our family some time in 2012.  Marianne is a certified Nurse-Midwife and we practiced together for many years until she left practice to home-school our children, which she has done for the past seven years.

As a family we enjoy all things outdoors including camping, fishing, mountain biking, and competing in sprint-distance triathlons.  Like many of you, we seem to spend most of our weekends these days shuffling our children from one sporting event to the next.  It is a busy, wonderful time in our lives.

Thank you for reading my blog.  Please let me know what you think about my entries and about things you would like to know more about.

Posts do not replace visits with your doctor.

I don’t know if that is exactly true, but I have to say the majority of patients I see in the office are concerned about their weight.

I don’t have any quick-fix gimmicks or magic pills that allow you to lose weight while you sleep...

Once a cesarean, always a cesarean?

Vaginal birth after cesarean section

Once a Cesarean, Always a Cesarean?

One of the most common reasons women undergo cesarean section today is because of having had a previous cesarean section. What is the right answer?  What does the research tell us?  What is best for you and your baby?
